Care & Maintenance
Cane furniture is easy to care for and doesn't require much maintenance. Top-quality cane is non-porous, which means that any dirt, grime or dust won’t seep into your frame. If you want to clean your furniture frame you can use a cloth, a soft brush or a vacuum to remove any dust.
If you want to remove any dirt from between the grooves Desser recommends that you use a toothbrush. Another tip is not to use too much water to clean your furniture as this could damage the cane. Just make sure that when you use hot soapy water you always ring out your cloth.
Conservatories are known for being a sun trap, that’s why we love them but make sure you look after your indoor cushions. Prolonged exposure to the sun will cause the fabric to fade - remember to flip your cushions routinely. If you use one cushion more than the other you could regularly swap the cushions. Blinds are a great way to protect your cushions too as they keep your furniture in the shade when you’re not using it.
Care instructions will be different depending on the manufacturer and fabric so it’s important that you always read the care instructions. The majority of our fabrics are dry cleaning only, if you machine wash them you risk ruining your fabric. Desser offers AquaClean fabrics, these fabrics are top-quality stain-resistant fabrics. Any stains or spills such as food, wine or pen can easily be removed with just water!
