Cane Industries Fabrics

Cane Industries offer a wide range of fabrics for you to choose from. The fabrics come in four different levels with level one being the cheapest fabrics and level four the more expensive ones. You can choose from plain or patterned fabrics - depending on your preference. Is Cane Industries' conservatory furniture durable?

Cane is one of the most durable natural materials and is perfect for your conservatory. Cane conservatory furniture is designed to be in your home for years that’s why Cane Industries only use the highest quality raw materials.  Wicker is a woven fibre formed into a rigid material - making it lightweight but sturdy. This means that the wicker furniture is long-lasting and the frames will keep their quality over the years.

Is Cane Industries' conservatory furniture sustainable?

As cane furniture lasts for over 20 years it is a more sustainable choice for your home as you won’t need to replace it every few years. Thus making your home more ecologically friendly. Cane is harvested from one of the fastest growing tropical hardwoods, when it’s harvested it can renew itself in around 5 years. 

In the manufacturing process, something called carbon sequestration happens. The rattan trees are locked away whilst they grow which traps the carbon, rather than releasing it into the environment. When a tree is harvested a new one is planted in its place, which triggers a continuous cycle of renewal. Younger trees tend to sequester more carbon so harvesting the rattan trees quickly allows for a substantial difference in terms of carbon sequestration overall. This method of storing carbon dioxide will contribute to reducing the greenhouse gas effect.
